Bolt is basically a wedge that gets drawn in with the nut.King pins can now be removed in minutes with relative ease and efficiency. We have had to heat before, not sure if it's the correct way but it worked. would it hurt the axle if we put heat on it ? Soaked down with penetrating oil air hammer sledge hammer and still no go. Lots of times an air hammer will take things out ,where a sledge hammer wont. I see you are in salt area ,might need an air hammer.

Heat the pin, have a cup of coffee, and put some Hagens brew on it If it comes out like a pipe plug, in a block You need a bigger hammer and a longer swing. We have the nut off any have beat on it until the threaded end broke off flush with the axle and can not get the pin to move at all Loosen the nut and pound the pin out the other side. wanted to check first before I started heating on the axle trying to get it out the pin end where the nut goes on has a flat side on the bolt. this is the bolt we cant get out so the king pin will drive out. also ours only has one bolt that hold the king pin in from coming out it has a half inch nut on the one side and looks like it must be a tapered bolt as nothing sticks out the other side you can just see the end of the pin if this makes any sense. we have a eaton axle with the top and bottom cap that screw on. got everything apart except cant get the bolt to come out on the axle that locks the king pin in. On our 2000 kenworth w900l had a front wheel bearing go out and lock up and wreck the hub and spindle trying to get it apart.
